Our Amazon Book Reviews: The Move to Mexico Bible
Glenn Wilson: The Move to Mexico Bible is a great resource if you have recently moved to Mexico or are thinking about moving to Mexico.
We moved to Mexico about a year ago and Sonia Diaz (one of the authors) was a tremendous help with the transition and visas, medical insurance and more. This book contains facts, information, resources and some very useful advice and opinions.
Thomas R. Kluzak: Thorough discussion of the country and the complexities of relocating there. I expect it to be very useful as we consider our move.

I offer a range of consulting services, all designed to help you make your life in Mexico easier. Mexico offers many benefits to residents including healthcare, driver's licenses, car registration, opportunity to earn income and much more.
For those with a foreign plated vehicle it is understandable in many circumstances you may wish to keep your vehicle. The easiest method is to be a Temporary Resident visa which allows one to have a car from Canada or the United States, in Mexico for up to 4 years.
If you wish to earn income including as a landlord while being a resident this is available to you. I will complete the required processes with Immigration.
I have personally traveled in Canada and the United States. I understand the differences compounded by a language issue for many. This allows me to provide a professional service in a timely manner.
Welcome to Mexico, my country, my home where the greatest consistency is inconsistency. I truly hope you come to appreciate all that Mexico offers including our people, culture, diversity, traditions, food, weather and geography.

My education includes a three year university degree in Human Resources. Hence, my Licenciada designation. My husband's Canadian education has been evaluated for the US government as being more than 250 university courses and is a Certified Human Professional. He has worked in both countries in HR including the largest nuclear station in the world and a hospital in New Mexico.
I have been consulting for several years. The information you will find here is based on actual experience on the many topics I cover. I process visas every day. According to staff of the various offices I process by more visas, INAPAM, Seguro Popular, drivers' licenses and citizenhIps than any other individual in San Miguel.
I work closely with staff at various government offices such as INM, (Inmigracion); State driver's license office; DIF for INAPAM; Presidencia (city hall); Seguro Popular (healthcare); SAT (taxation) and many others. I pride myself in these working relationships which benefits my many clients for which I am very grateful. A typical day includes receiving and answering as many as 160 emails which I try to do within 4 hours.
A special thank you to all who have supported me.

So, you’re thinking about moving to Mexico? Good for you. It’s exciting to plan your adventure and even more exciting to live it. Some questions to ask yourself:
What will you do for medical insurance?
Will you be bringing your vehicle and pets?
Are you allowed to own property in Mexico?
How do you handle paying utilities?
Can you transfer money online easily?
How long can you stay?
Will you have to pay taxes?
Do you have enough money to live there?
And it’s a big country – living in Cancun is nothing like living in Cabo. The Move to Mexico Bibletakes a look at 33 different cities and towns – from Ensenada to Tulum – exploring variables from expat population to climate and conveniences.
This book will also walk you through the legal process for obtaining your residency visa and will give you invaluable advice about health care, household help, communications, real estate and other topics of interest.
Sonia Diaz & Beverley Wood share their decades of acquired knowledge and personal on-the-ground experience in The Move to Mexico Bible.

Your first Temporary or Permanent Resident visa starts with a pre-approval at a Mexican consulate outside of Mexico. I can guide you through this process and work with you once you are in Mexico. I also process visa renewals and replacements.

Mexico has one of the world's largest economies, it is the tenth largest oil producer in the world, the largest silver producer in the world and is considered both a regional power and middle power. In addition, Mexico was the first Latin American member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development OECD (since 1994), and considered an upper-middle income country by the World Bank. Mexico is considered a newly industrialized country and an emerging power. It has the fifteenth largest nominal GDP and the eleventh largest GDP by purchasing power parity. The economy of Mexico is strongly linked to those of its North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) partners, especially the United States. Mexico ranks sixth in the world and first in the Americas by number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Mexico is one of the top ten most visited countries in the world with approximately 27 million international arrivals per year. According to Goldman Sachs, by 2050 Mexico could become the world's fifth largest economy. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) estimated in January 2013 that by 2050 Mexico could be the world's seventh largest economy. Mexico has membership in prominent institutions such as the UN, the WTO, the G20 and the Uniting for Consensus.
Much appreciated comment on a large Yahoo web board: "I have to chime in with my positive experiences as well. We've used Sonia for a variety of things over the past three years - visas, address changes with IMS, Seguro Popular, drivers licenses, etc. - and only had positive experiences. We could probably field some of these things ourselves at this point, but her pricing makes it seem better to let her handle everything with the assurance it's being done correctly. She makes it so very easy!"
Please know that working with you is a pleasure. You make life easier for everyone. It is easy to see that you make life easier for Glenn and me, and you also make life easier for the people and institutions we have dealt with.
Just as important as insurance for me is maintaining my hair. I absolutely love my new salon and I especially love Ramon. I could never have found them without your recommendation.
Thank you, Sonia, I appreciate you.

Yesterday Teresa went with me to Aduana to sort thru the issues relative to my TIP. The fellow that initially tried to help us was giving me what I knew to be bad advice. He was very nice and polite but he was incorrect. Teresa’s persistence, professionalism yet courteous approach provided us with what we believed to be the appropriate steps to take to insure the return of our deposit.
Your company along with Teresa will be a welcome addition to Puerto Vallarta.

Over the past couple of months Sonia has been helping me on a process of obtaining Mexican citizenship. She is an absolute Marvel. From day one with her introductory letter explaining every step of the process down to taking me to Queretaro twice as well as her sister helping me in Mexico City she has been amazing. There was only one thing she could have done better, take the exam for me. But since that wasn’t possible I can only highly recommend that you seek her out for any sort of immigration or naturalization work you might need to be doing.

I just want to thank you for your help in getting our Seguro Popular renewed. Mary Jordan and I had a lovely experience with Tere. She was prompt, efficient, very pleasant and made this experience very comfortable for both of us. She is a very good employee and I will be more than happy to refer my GTO friends to your services in Puerto Vallarta.
Again, my great thanks and appreciation.
On My FaceBook:
Brad Duncan Can't say enough great things about your service. Teresa took care of everything we needed to get our resident visas and update our address when we moved. Thank you for making our transition from the U.S. to Puerto Vallarta so easy.
Arden Beere Trevino Sonia has been so very helpful to us! Always pleasant, understanding and prompt!
Patty Wolfston-Hawco You provide excellent service and communication!
Nureshmi Hassim Teresa Sanchez has helped at least two people I know. She very professional and dedicated to getting it done.
Narae Kim Ellis I always recommend Sonia, Sonia, and Sonia. Just don't waste time going elsewhere.
John Walker Sonia is my go-to person for everything in Mexico even though I have good Spanish. On several occasions, going it alone has cost me dearly in the past and Sonia's relationships with the various authorities/agencies helped to bail me out each time. Don't hesitate. Her fee is trivial in comparison to the hassle you will avoid.
